Shutters, Screens & Awnings In Hilton Head Island, SC

Life on Hilton Head Island is lived with the doors open: porches, lanais, and views toward the water. Southern Custom Shutters helps island homeowners protect those spaces and finish them with care. We begin with a free in-home consultation, then handle ordering, delivery and installation. Call 843-405-9129, Monday through Saturday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Window Treatments And Screens For Island Homes

Salt air, bright sun and storm exposure make an island setting different from the mainland. Many homes here are used year-round, while others are second homes that sit closed for weeks. That affects the choices: protection that works with little daily attention, and finishes meant for a coastal setting.

We build and install for both the inside and outside of the home. Indoors, that means plantation shutters, interior shades and blinds. Outdoors, it means insect and patio screens, clear vinyl and sun screens, a dual shade system, hurricane screens, exterior shutters and Sunbrella awnings, all custom made and measured on site.

Popular Choices for Hilton Head Island Homes

A barrier island brings salt air, strong sun and exposure to coastal weather. These are among the most requested options for island homes and second residences:

• Hurricane Screens: Self-adjusting, hurricane-rated protection for patios and porches gives you a plan for storm season before it arrives.
• Exterior Shutters: Bahama, Colonial, Board & Batten and Louvered styles come in impact or decorative versions, so you can choose for looks, protection, or both.
• Clear Vinyl Patio Screens: Clear panels help block wind and temperature swings while keeping the view you chose the island for.
• Plantation Shutters: Interior shutters let you manage sun and privacy room by room, and they are a natural fit for a coastal home.
