Plantation Shutters in Beaufort
Beaufort homes, whether on the water, on an island or in a walkable neighborhood, share the same Lowcountry challenges: bright sun, high humidity and the need for privacy without giving up the view. Custom plantation shutters answer all three. Southern Custom Shutters measures every window in your home, orders shutters made for those openings, and installs them, with a free in-home consultation to start.
Light, Privacy and Classic Style
The adjustable louvers are what set shutters apart. Angle them up to bounce soft light into the room, angle them down for privacy from the street, or close them to block afternoon glare. Swing the panels open and the window is clear. Shutters are a timeless look that fits traditional and coastal interiors alike, and they are often seen as adding value to a home.
Built for Your Windows
Older homes often have windows that vary from room to room, and newer homes often have large glass areas or unusual shapes. Either way, an off-the-shelf product rarely fits well. We measure each opening on site and help you choose the layout and finish, and the shutters are custom made to those measurements. Our team then delivers and installs them.

Shutters for Every Room
Different rooms call for different things. In a bedroom, shutters can be closed tight for privacy and to dim early light. In a living room facing the water, the louvers can be angled to soften glare while keeping the view in sight. Bathrooms and street-facing rooms benefit from being able to open the top for light while keeping the lower view private. Because each panel is custom made, we can plan these choices window by window instead of using one setup for the whole house.
